First Class LegalFirst Class LegalContact: Lynette McDonald
When nine-year-old Lynette McDonald and her two sisters were living in their small home town of Opotiki on New Zealand’s Bay of Plenty they came up with the entrepreneurial idea of selling fresh picked flowers for charity. Their mother carefully explained to them however that their plan had two fatal flaws. Firstly the flowers came from their neighbour’s garden without prior permission and secondly the girls were not a recognised charity! After returning the money to the buyers and apologising to the neighbours, life continued for the three adventurous girls with endless new sales plans to augment their weekly pocket money.
Still with the spirit of adventure coursing through her veins, the 19-year-old Lynette left home with a one-way air ticket to London where she immediately started travelling. Meeting her future husband in Greece she returned eventually to London with him extending her promised six month journey somewhat!
On their return to New Zealand they decided to settle in Melbourne to set up home and start a family. After a spell working for the Manager of a shipping company Lynette left to have her first child. She then worked for 10 years with an Ivanhoe based solicitor where she learnt conveyancing. After this Lynette, her husband and four sons decided it was time for another career move for me.
In September 2013 she joined the fast growing team at First Class Legal initially as a Conveyancer and then became Branch Manager at Greensborough in June 2014. Twelve months later Lynette became Sales Director for the Group’s three branch offices and then First Class Legal proceeded to open a fourth office in Blackburn. “They employ both lawyers and conveyancers within the firm, to ensure that should you need them, the full range of legal services is available and at your disposal. Qualified solicitors supervise all conveyancing files in the business. With First Class Legal standing beside you as your partner in property, you have peace of mind whether buying or selling,” explained Lynette.
In April of last year First Class Legal became the first legal firm in Melbourne to complete a property settlement electronically through the new national PEXA system. This is a secure platform that allows Australian lawyers and conveyancers, land registries and financial institutions to transact together online.
