Plenty Valley PrintingPlenty Valley PrintingContact: Steven Briffa
Steven Briffa was born and brought up in a street where everyone was poor, so he didn’t have much time to feel sorry for himself. His early life was never about school, he was always too busy planning to be successful in business. After leaving High School, Steven enrolled himself in a Diploma of Applied Science course at RMIT. He joined a local Medical Laboratory, but after six years, knew that he was not really happy working in science.
Steven decided he was going to work for himself and set up a video shop. The business started well but ground to a halt after one of the major video chains opened up just around the corner. He paid off all the debts of the shop over the next four or five years by working for a local Snap Printing business.
After nearly seven years at Snap he realised he was ‘a natural’ in the printing industry. Steven had found the entrepreneurial career path he had been looking for! In 1994 he started his own foil printing business, working part-time from his garage at home. Evenings and weekends he helped his fledgling businesses’ cash flow with a tiling job and working for his uncle as a dishwasher on Saturdays. It was only when his uncle had to sack him that Steven realised that he had to take control of his life and create a business plan. Basically the plan was to buy more printing equipment and just focus on the printing business.
With a properly documented sales plan the business began to grow and Steven had to build a larger garage to accommodate his printing business. In 1996, Steven purchased Plenty Valley Printing and has out grown the premises twice and now operates from a six hundred square metre building in Para Road. Plenty Valley Printing now provides all aspects of printing from initial planning, graphic and logo design through to the printing of business cards, business stationery, full colour brochures and booklets. They service clients from Greensborough, Heidelberg, Eltham, Thomastown, Diamond Creek, Bundoora, Watsonia, Doncaster, Templestowe as well as Australia-wide via their website.
Between running the printing business, working as a Councillor for Banyule and visiting his property at Trinity Beach, just north of Cairns, Steven still finds time to go game fishing all around Australia and like the printing he’s very good at catching fish!
