Mark Wilson loved sport at school so much, that he ran home every day from Epping to Rosanna just to keep in shape.
As a marathon runner he completed four full marathons, 12 half marathons and hundreds of fun runs in his career. Along with running, Mark had also always wanted to be an electrician.
After completing his apprenticeship he worked for several electricians to broaden his knowledge. His lead up to starting his own business also included a stint as a flight attendant with TAA to fine tune his customer service skills. Finally in 1989 just as Australia was struggling with Paul Keating’s ‘recession we had to have’ he opened up Mark Wilson Electrical Contractors. He steadily grew the business until 2000 when in order to start tendering for projects with Parks Victoria and reflect a more ‘total maintenance’ capability, he changed the name to Tradetech Services Australia.
Tradetech Services Australia has been operating for the past 15 years throughout Melbourne and thrives off building solid business relationships and growing companies together. Their customers include the major players in the power generation and supply sectors, building and construction groups, a broad range of commercial and industrial customers as well as a fast growing residential side of the electrical market.
The business has grown into a thriving company with over 20 employees including six Electricians and three Apprentices, eight civil workers, and five licensed excavator operators. They also have three office staff engaged in administration, accounts and project management. Their passion is to quite simply deliver the best service – every time. They bring exceptional experience in all Electrical, Civil and Project areas. Their experience in Civil Underground Infrastructure is acknowledged as one of the best in Melbourne.
Mark explained that the future includes expansion into solar repairs as well as continuing his one-eyed support for Collingwood, involvement in Junior Football, the Children’s Variety Club Charity, the Bali Children’s Foundation and supporting the fleet of Life Education Vans. Mark’s son, who soon turns 21, suggested to Mark recently that they run together in the NY marathon to mark the event. Marks back in training!
