Greville Pabst CEO of WBP Property Group always wanted to play tennis. Between the age of 13 and 15 he ranked in the top 10 junior players in Victoria. However much as he enjoyed tennis he had a dedication to working hard at school. Greville grew up in the Western Suburbs and like his father become a one-eyed Footscray supporter. His father worked hard to send Greville to Essendon Grammer. He enjoyed the challenge of school and won a place at RMIT where he studied property valuation. From 1986 to 1993 he worked at Westpac as an in-house valuer, but when the recession came he was, like many at the time retrenched. Greville had made some good connections however, and he seized an opportunity to buy into a start up business.

WBP Property GroupIn those days there were only three in the business. Now, 20 years on, WBP Property Group has 170 staff 10 offices across Australia and is the 4th largest national valuation business in Australia.

WBP’s advice to their fast growing client base is based on hard facts and experience and takes into consideration a property’s growth performance – key factors that differentiate them from most other property valuers and advisors. The three main platforms of their business are, property valuation, buyer advocacy and advice and commercial real estate asset management.

When Greville’s not working on the business he still loves playing tennis and is a member at Kooyong. Two teenage sons keep Greville and his wife busy at weekends. Noah is a national swimmer and Corey is in the top 20 Australian junior tennis players. With a beachfront home at Black Rock and a farm in the Otways near Lorne, the family is always on the move. Apart from his hectic work and family commitments Greville also finds time to be a property judge on Channel 9’s show ‘The Block’. A regular contributor to ABC radio’s Money Show on Saturday mornings he also writes a weekly property column in the Herald Sun Newspaper.
